Why is no one commenting on the fact that the lower Dell price reflects a discount for small businesses? Is the Apple price also reflecting such a discount? How much higher are the Dells without the discount?

@Blake
You are right with the NVS 285. But I had a check at the Dell-website (at the 11. August) and I had no chance to find such system. Only with Quadro FX and I got the similar prices with a FX - not with a NVS 285. This was the reason for my comment ;-)

The graphics card variation is a non-issue. Apple is using a GeForce 7300GT while Dell opted for a Quadro NVS 285. This is an entry level Quadro card. Sure it costs a little more than the 7300GT, but the difference is only about $20.

Comparing Apples with Oranges (a Dell) - check the graphic-systems of both systems and go back to reconfigure on Dell-website...

Wow, we need more "X poops in the face of Y" commentary in this world. No, really. That was funny.

nevermind the fact that you can build 4 amd64X2 boxes for the prices of any of these, its a nice to see dell in last place. the big question, is there a Ubuntu option on the build-to-order?
