Fyrir þá sem ekki vita er arftaki DVD diskanna handan við hornið. Tæknirisarnir hafa hópað sig í tvö lið og berjast um hvort Blu-Ray eða HD-DVD hreppi krúnuna. Fyrsta kynslóð Blu-Ray drifanna frá Sony, þ.m.t þetta sem um ræðir munu ekki geta ekki spilað Blu-Ray mynd-diska (út af öryggisörðugleikum að mig grunar).
