Stick 1-Line Phone Router

stickline.jpgSo you’ve got a phone, a fax, a TiVo and your old Windows 95 machine running AOL dial-up all hooked up to the wall, sharing a single phone line. Do you order 4 lines and pay out the nose? Of course not, you get the Phone Router, which “screens and automatically routes all voice, fax, and modem calls to the right equipment every time.”

We’re not sure how this magic works, but if it’s convenient and can save you money, the $144.99 price tag is well worth it.

Are you kidding me? This thing has been around for at least a decade — apparently unchanged. How can this possibly be considered newsworthy?

Besides, who’s still using phone lines, let alone dial-up modems and fax machines? ;-)

BTW, it’s called “The Stick”, not the “Phone Router” and my experience with several of these over several years indicates that they work reliably and are reasonably durable. At least, they were back in the 90’s when we used them at the office.
