I am a working on a webpage in my CPT class. I was hoping I could use your picture of a MacBook. It is protocol to ask permission for picture use.
Please e-mail me back.

[...] Apple’s solution to this is to realign the location of the thermometer and cabling on the heatsink so that it does not short circuit. That is why the new heatsink is necessary. In the view of this writer, it warrants a public recall. Any user can produce easily the scenario that causes the MacBook to crash, even with pre-installed applications such as iLife. This also explains Apple’s recent SMC Update for the MacBook. In short, the ramped up fan is a response to Apple knowing the heatsink is going to expand, and attempts to proactively cool it down to prevent the short circuit. Unfortunately, as countless users have shown, it is still possible with something as simple as a terminal command, to overheat the CPU. The only solution is to reproduce the crash, call Apple, and have them replace the heatsink. If this is indeed the root cause of the RSS as first discussed here (English translation), Apple needs to recall every single MacBook out there and not merely ask victims of their crappy designing to call AppleDon'tCare. Unfortunately, as history has shown with flawed Apple machines, it will take enough lawsuit threats and bad PR before something on the scale of a recall is done. Apple screwed up royally with these Rev. As between this and the myriad of other issues plaguing them and it angers me to see them downplaying their crappy QA once again. Unfortunately, by the time Apple fully addresses the situation at hand they will already have new product replacements and the cycle begins all over again. __________________ alphasubzero949 [...]

[...] Apple has put together a support page for those of you who’s fancy Macbooks have been shutting down on their own accord. It consists of a link to AppleCare. There’s very little no other information on the page, and no explanation at all, but if you’re having the problem, they’ve got a fix. [...]

[...] A German engineer has claimed to discover why the MacBook randomly shuts down. Here’s the translated explanation and solution according to Martin Backschat’s blog and CrunchGear: The heat sink expands during operation and gets into contact with the sensor cable and melts the cable’s isolation. This in turn causes a short circuit and, thus, the immediate shutdown of the Macbook. As the heat sink is cooling down, the heat sink contracts to the point that it looses its contact with the cable and breaks up the short circuit. [...]
