PlayStation 3 Delayed Until March 2007 In Europe

Thanks to Blu-ray laser production issues, the PlayStation 3 is going to be delayed in the European area until March 2007. That’s something everyone’s been expecting, but it looks like Sony’s finally dropped the hammer. Other regions affected: Russia, Middle East, Africa, and Australia.

In other news, Americans will have their shipment cut from 4 million to 2 million, just like we reported on last week. Somehow we think it’s doubtful Sony will hit the 2 million mark, since the Xbox 360 only shipped 1.5 million units in Q4 2005, and that was in a unit without a next-gen DVD reader and without a sophisticated Cell chip.
