Disney, makers of most things mouse, are now launching a line of cameras with interesting capabilities aimed at children. Of the ones being offered currently, the Pix Max is the most powerful, offering 3 megapixels, a 1.5-inch LCD screen and auto-flash. There is also some limited in-camera editing in the form of picture frames. There will also be a camcorder version called the Disney Princess Digital Movie Maker that will include a docking station, 32MB of memory, a built-in microphone, and software that will allow young filmakers to edit the film to the end of adding animation or music. Most of this will be Disney-oriented, I’m sure.

That’s not all, though. There are also budget options for those of you who don’t think your kids are worth $79.99 for the two top-of-the-line models. You can imagine the craptitude of these things, but I like the idea of in-camera editing for the young’ns. In addition to the cameras, Disney will be releasing a peripheral: a tiny digital keychain locket with a 1.1-inch LCD screen that holds 50 photos and uses two AA batteries. Now, that’s useful.
