I like the idea of the cellphone jamming in theaters but I think its a bit unpractical because many parents leave the kids with a sitter to have a night out. If there was an emergency and the parents could not be contacted because of the phone jam, I think a lawsuit would definitely ensue.

But I do agree with Tony about schools and classrooms. Some of the kids in schools in my area have been using phones to help cheat on exams and even handle drug deals while in class. Every school has a payphone and an office if a student needs to make a call for an emergency. Besides, most kids just call other kids that are already at school with them!

My bedroom...

My wife: “I’m having sex. What? Sex. Oh, I don’t know. It’s pretty good. What?” *covers mic with hand* "Can you please stop for a second?" *uncovers mic and back into phone* "So sorry, what were you saying?"

The only places cell phones should be jammed or blocked is where talking of any sort is unacceptable. Schools/classrooms would probably be a good place to start (there's been a lot of talk about this one anyways), as would the theater, classical/jazz music concerts, or churches.

Otherwise, using a phone is just like having a normal conversation, and if you're free to speak, you should be free to call.
