I believe the random shutdowns are only affecting macbooks...keeping my fingers crossed as I hope my macbook doesn't start giving me problems. I'm hoping mine crashes and burns and catches fire so I can get a new one with a Merom chip...if the macbooks will even be upgraded, which I hope they don't since I bought mine a month ago. A friend had to have her macbook pro logicboard replaced the other day.

The random shutdown business only affects the MacBooks, not the MacBook Pros, yes?

Actually, they probably wouldn't put up the suport page if they didn't have a solution. I guess they run you through the normal troubleshooting steps because tons of people think they have the problem, but don't. Somebody I know thought her MacBook was constantly crashing when in fact it just went to sleep after a given time of inactivity.

Anyway, if they can't fix it using normal troubleshooting steps, they'll tell you to send it in or bring it to an Apple shop where they'll fix or replace it.
