IBM Shipping Wii Chips

IBM announced today that it has begun shipping Power Architecture-based chips to Nintendo for use in the Wii. Yet we still have no definite price or release date. Maybe Nintendo is planning to pull an Apple-esque move where they announce everything and it’s available immediately. Maybe, but probably not. I want to play “Battalion Wars 2,” so hurry up dammit.

So the same facility that produced the Wii chips also produced the PS3 chips? I wonder if Nintendo did anything special to get their chips ahead in line on the production floor…
There are no words in english to describe how much I want this system (In Polish, one might say “like 150″ but that doesn’t translate very well). The look of the system just screams ‘apple design’ and the prospect of having to get up and move around to play makes the lazy folk with slow metabolisms like me look forward to gameplay+exercise in one convenient package. Release it already, Nintendo!
