In lighter news, ThinkGeek is selling these teeny-tiny Atari controller key chains. The best part? Each keychain contains a completely playable version s of Atari classics. To play, you connect a six-foot cord to your TV and select a game. The keychains run on 3 AAA batteries and act just like real Atari controllers.

  • Joystick 1 – Asteroids and Millipede

  • Joystick 2 – Centipede and Yar’s Revenge
  • Paddle – Pong, Breakout, and Warlords

    They cost $14.99 each.

    • OMG, this is awesome! I’d drop the $15 today, if only there was a Pitfall version. [Keeping Fingers Crossed] Although, you may get jabbed in the leg, or elsewhere, if you choose the controller to carry around in your pocket. It might also create some awkward interactions…”Is that controller in your pocket or are you just happy to see me.” Now, where is a Trapper Keeper when you need it?

I wonder how long it will take to come up with a NES version with Super Mario or Zelda emulators.

    • I wrote a review of these last month. If they make a Pitfall version it will be Nintendo Super Pitfall. Yes, that’s right, they’re Nintendo-on-a-chip games, not Atari 2600 based at all – and the games they play are poor ports. Here’s a review I wrote last month:

    • Thanks, Jacob. Great detailed report on these gadgets. Let’s hope they make a better quality version (afterall, the product is sold on ThinkGeek and the geek masses will not dig a shotty device) and definitely the Nintendo controller.
