Question: what is the use of the display? I mean, how can the average person see what’s on the display when the headset is on his/her ear?
Looks like a superfluous feature to me.
You’re kidding, right Ayan? This is so when you’re phone is in your pocket, purse or briefcase you can see who’s calling. Sure, it won’t work when the headset is already on your ear, but you can see the LCD if you keep the headset plugged in on your desk, or presumably take it off your ear really quick to look at it.
It’s obviously not necessary if you rarely use your headset and have your phone handy, but I’d much rather just look at the headset on my desk to see who’s calling and not futz around with my phone and then put the headset on.
Of course, maybe if it had voice prompting “202-555-1212 calling, Accept?” that would be even cooler.
I agree with jcricket, extremely useful for when the phone is out of reach. Also, even without the caller id a screen is a good idea just for the operation of the headset. I know mine is a pain to try and figure out whats going on when setting it up.
My phone does not get good reception in my basement. Leaving the phone upstairs and having the headset downstairs should solve the problem. Having the LCD allows me to see who is calling while I’m downstairs.
