iBreath Could Save You from DUI Ruination

Another day, another seemingly useless iPod accessory. This thing serves 2 functions, FM transmitter and, more interestingly, breathalyser. The guys selling the iBreath are saying you should use it before you drive to find out if you’re actually sober enough to drive, but I have a feeling this is going to be used a lot more when your buddies are sitting around the apartment and somebody claims to be the drunkest in the room, and somebody else argues that they are actually the most drunk. If you are, however, inclined to use this thing for its intended purpose, you should probably keep it in your glove compartment. It may keep you out of jail.

Yeah, like I’m going to want to fool around with an iPod breathalyzer when I’m schlitzed…

…but I like how the accompanying image shows the readout of someone who’s clearly had a few.

I was thinking the same thing.

hahaha, I could have used one of these in college. I’ll agree with Claudio’s first comment…if you’re sober enough to use it then chances are you’ll be ok but then again…

Sad thing is, this will turn into a game. I can see it now, idiots sitting around seeing who can get the ‘high score’. Good idea for those who use it to not drive drunk though.

When the limit for the allowed alcohol level while driving decreased over here, lots of these gadgets showed up. Most of them were not exact enough to be usable. I wonder how this one fares…
