[...] One of the problems I see with the wheel is that it’s not attached to anything. There are lots of racing game fans out there (including me), that like the feel of an arcade racing wheel that is attached to a solid mount of some kind. Another problem is the strain it could cause on your arms, which was something we had actually mentioned before, during the first sightings of the wheel. If you’re actually holding the wheel up like an actual racing wheel (and not a buss driver), you’re going to start straining your hands a lot quicker than you would with a mounted wheel. There’s no release date on the wheel, but I’m excited to see all the different ways Nintendo will integrate it into the Wii. [...]

I guess we'll have to wait and see. People playing Nintendo's Excite Truck (which is played by holding the wiimote horizontally and tilting it to steer) say it feels great - maybe this wheel works, too. If the Nintendo DS has thaught us anything, it's that you can't judge an input mechanism on a theoretical basis. You have to play the game to see how it feels (case in point: steering with the DS pen doesn't work in Ridge Racer, but quite amazingly *does* work in Star Fox DS).

I still think this thing is a hoax. I mean come on. Although its better then that silly tethered joystick for fps. Thats just tacky.

It certainly gets the imagination pumping for what other crazy Wii-mote attachments are possible.

I see a fark.com photoshop competition!

"Maybe I’m wrong, but this thing seems like one of those ideas that is good only in theory."

I believe you are correct...The way I play GT games I'd be veering left the whole time with this thing(that's how I hold my controller at least, to the left), in case anyone needed clarification.
