Europeans Testing Hijack-proof Airplane
by Gavin Robinson on September 12, 2006

Engineers in Europe have begun testing a “hijack-proof” airplane that is supposed to be able to pay attention to suspicious passengers, keep track of the plane staff and even steer clear of tall buildings if a terrorist tries to pull that trick again.

The program is called Security of Aircraft in the Future European Environment (SAFEE) and BAE Systems is in charge of the endeavor. They will be using differnet simulators throughout Europe to test and re-test the systems. If it works, expect this to be the only way to travel in the years to come. My question are US engineers developing anything similar?

This aircraft allow ground controller to disable the cockpit and fly the plane from the ground.

Once terrorists have hacked into the system, however, it allows terrorists to hijack the airplane without even being onboard! It increases the number of potential highjackers by an incredible amount.

Never Say Never.

Marvelous. Thanks, will spread this among my friends!
