Palm just unveiled the 750, a new smartphone, in Europe for sale from Vodaphone. We’ll have exclusive video and images of it in an hour.
Today, Palm unveiled the first of those devices. The 750v, which looks like a slicker, antenna-less version of its predecessors, will run on Microsoft’s Windows Mobile platform and will only be sold to Vodafone wireless subscribers in Europe. More important will be the second Treo Palm has up its sleeve, an e-mail and Web-enabled handset dubbed “Lowrider” that costs around $200–about half the price of its predecessors.

This is a nice addition to the product line, especially the removal of the fat antenna. Too bad its planned only for availability in Europe. I also wonder about the pricing. The Treos are always premium-priced over competitors, but I am very interested in the “Lowrider” introduction with the lower price point. I hope it is planned for US availability.
