Slingbox Gets a Facelift

Sling Media has filed some information with the FCC for the second generation Slingbox. The new unit will feature direct connectivity via A/V cables or S-Video rather than the three-in-one cable they’ve used to date.

No word on whether anything else has been updated or not, but there is no mention of WiFi, so it looks like your “go anywhere” media device can still only go as far as an ethernet cable.

I actually kind of dug the first design and sort of prefer it. This one reminds me of some toy from the 80s. Dunno when it’ll be available, but I’d say before the holidays.
