The Zune marketplace does have all the music you see on the cover. Have you explored the site at all?

The only one problem with the marketplace is they want to much money to download songs that dont even last more then their experation date. (whatever that is) I have discovered the best alternitive to this problem is to get all my content from other Zune downloads online. Here is a site that I see allot of that has great place to get your downloads from. I like to call it the new Zune marketplace. http://watch-dogreviews.com/zunedownloads.html

Perhaps whoever designed the GUI for the zune software actually has good taste in music and decided to show that off in the promo shots they made. I for one think if the Zune marketplace only sold the type of music they show in the shot I would ditch both my ipods and jump on this

but I hope that when the software syncs with the Zune, that there’s a flag somewhere that tells it the color (white, black, brown) of the unit, and skins the Marketplace app to match.

[...] With the upcoming launch of the Zune player and the already active Zune Marketplace, Microsoft has decided to put a lid on MSN Music’s download services. As of November 14, clicking on a “purchase” button will get you redirected to either the Marketplace Web site or, thanks to a 2005 legal settlement, to RealNetworks’ Rhapsody site. If you bought tracks from MSN don’t worry, they’ll still be available for your use. [...]

Some of it's there, but a lot they don't even carry.

Microsoft will have absolutely no problems getting major labels; they already have them at their MSN Music Store (music.msn.com), so the Zune Marketplace (or whatever its called) will definitely have them.

[...] The Zune has 802.11 networking built in and you can send a song to your friend for three days or three plays, which ever comes first. The goal, obviously, is to sell music. You can use this as a MySpace-like network of users who pop music to each other with giddy abandon and infect others with their musical stylings on the train (perhaps a sandwich board that says “I’ll Send My New HARDCORE RAP Single to Your Zune. Talk to me. Please?”) Once you get back home you can connect to the Zune Marketplace - and presumably an artists home page - where you can learn more and buy music. [...]

[...] Wireless Zune-to-Zune sharing lets you spontaneously share full-length sample tracks of select songs, homemade recordings, playlists or pictures with friends between Zune devices.
[...] As reported everywhere, Microsoft has officially announced the launch of Zune, a music and entertainment platform which includes portable media players and a content download service (Zune Marketplace).
This is totally stupid, but I hope that when the software syncs with the Zune, that there's a flag somewhere that tells it the color (white, black, brown) of the unit, and skins the Marketplace app to match.
