The vertical slider smartphone by Gigabyte just cleared the FCC here in the US. Despite not having a QWERTY keyboard, the smartphone has Windows Mobile 5 for Pocket PC Edition, which is usable thanks to its 2.4-inch QVGA touchscreen. There’s also a 5-way navigation key that can be used as a music controller, a 2-megapixel camera, tri-band GSM, 64MB RAM, miniSD slot, Bluetooth 1.2, 802.11b/g, and a mini USB connector. No word on which carrier will be launching it in the States (most likely Cingular or T-Mobile).
