
Here’s a strange duck. Although Bose is doing this with their Companion line, these Altec Lansing speakers are USB only and include audio in and out but no optical connector. Presumably these speakers use a driver on the PC to smooth out the audio and create the surround-sound effect. It also includes a remote.
Priced at $249.95, they’re an interesting idea. Not sure how popular they’ll be.

I like the idear for my parents, I bought them a new TV for their anniversary and I am planning to install media center on my old laptop and give it to them, however it doesn’t have an audiojack and this is a lot cheaper then buying an exterior sound card and a set of normal speakers…
I like the idea.. but really wonder how good it will work…
i wish them luck in that market.
