NES Controller Alarm Clock

I can’t remember the last time I put my hands on an original NES controller. Hell, I can’t even remember the last game I played on my NES! Just thinking about it reminds me of long nights roaming the cities in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: The Arcade Game. /sigh…
The NES Controller Alarm Clock is a limited edition import item from Japan that is modeled to look like the original NES controller. The clock features a little LCD in the corner, a functional D-Pad used to set the time (and for a built in mini-game!), built-in stand and alarm sounds from Super Mario Bros. There isn’t really any information on what the mini-game is, but apparently if you score high enough you can unlock another alarm sound. The controller is going for $24.99 plus shipping, not bad!
If you do end up purchasing one of these, make sure you keep the site bookmarked or print out the directions on the product page, unless you can read the Japanese directions that come with the clock.

This is sweet. I remember having one of the first handheld games from Nintendo that I got from Japan. It was a boxing game and the controllers were stored in the folding case.

This looks little more like the old Nintendo Game-and-Watches, even before the NES.
I can’t imagine what the included game must be like, with only that LCD screen.

Shouldn’t think geek be calling this a Famicom controller alarm clock? I know they were, mostly, compatible systems but I would be disappointed if there wasn’t a picture and I expected an NES controller after ordering this.

Looks like it might flip open but who knows

Yeah, this looks more like a Famicom controller. Never saw a NES controller that wasn’t gray/black/red, unless it was some cheap third-party rip-off.
