Sprint announced today forthcoming availability of the Samsung A900M, an updated version of the Blade. The new phone is compatible with Sprint Power Vision, Sprint Music Store and Sprint TV. It can also stream music from Sirius and Rhapsody.
On the tech side, it has EVDO for wireless broadband speeds. It also features a 1.3MP camera that supports PictBridge for some direct to printer action. The A900M has all the other standard features: Bluetooth, voice recorder, speakerphone, organizer, etc.
It will be available October 1 for an undisclosed price.
Um, how is this different from the Samsung A900 that I bought for my fiance last year?
Can’t spot any differences from the fact sheet, though I haven’t memorized the specs of the older one.
It is a great phone though. I got the A920 myself, though I sometimes look at the A900 with envy…

I have had bad luck with Samsung on the Sprint network. The reception was completely unstable and the sound quality was poor. Sprint even refunded one model for me because they had so many complaints.
This phone as doesn’t seem to be offering any new features and the design is pretty bland.

Nope, my fiance’s phone has EVDO and support for Sirius. My A920 has the same.
Not that I paid for a Siruis subscription, but they do offer one radio channel for free.
I’m having some of the same unsteady reception issues. I’ve even had the phone not ring at all when someone calls, despite having a decent signal.
I still like the phone though. Those might be issues with the Sprint network, since I’ve had similar problems on previous phones.
One thing is that the battery life has improved. The A900 that I have dies after using the mobile video function.
