I’m very impressed with these new models. I have to seriously consider them as my current deck is starting to decline. Both are lcurrently listed on Crutchfield. The MP66 (color screen) is listed for $499 and the MP56 (black/white) is $299. From the technical details of the site, both seem to the same feature set. So I guess $200 gets you a color screen (and maybe extra wattage).
Redundant, nothing…
Alpine and Kenwood have had great iPod integration for years, and work with almost all of their decks, including the LCD screens. Why be limited to an SD card when you can use the entire iPod? What Alpine and Kenwood are doing will essentially be what’s in all the new car models that have announced full iPod support. And it’s quite a list.
