Iomega made basically the same device a year ago, the Screenplay. However, it looks like the iZak has the edge because it has a digital audio out as well as the ability to do composite, S-Video, and component-video out, to the Iomega’s lowly analog audio/video options. But hey, what’s with the big “spank me” remote?

The portability of the iZak is nice but far more capable (though somewhat less portable) hard drive media players are available — ones which have digital video out (up to 1080p resolution) as well as Ethernet and USB2 ports. Plus, they take internal hard drives of any size. Two leading examples are from Pixel Magic and TViX:
