<p>Out of your price range? Sling Media adds two, lower-end models to the lineup: Slingbox AV and Slingbox Tuner. The AV gives you control over your digital cable, satellite or DVR set-top box. The Tuner is for people with standard basic analog cable that don’t require access to a set-top box, DVR or other AV devices. Both are two-thirds the size of the original and will sell for $180.</p>

The slingbox is an awesome addition to the TV-as-it-should-be world. Sling Media has released three new versions of the slingbox — the Slingbox Tuner, Slingbox A/V and Slingbox PRO. Doesn’t the old slingbox do pretty much all the things the new pro does? Control DVR, A/V, and basic cable? Granting the old slingbox does not support HD and has a slightly worse quality overall. With the old ones going for around $140 it does not seem like a good deal to get a nerfed slingbox tuner or AV for $180 or buy a pro for $240.
