  • The slingbox is an awesome addition to the TV-as-it-should-be world. Sling Media has released three new versions of the slingbox — the Slingbox Tuner, Slingbox A/V and Slingbox PRO. The Sling Community (www.slingcommunity.com — which my company Capable Networks manages) is the place to talk about the placeshifting revolution and the latest in Slingbox technology. Check out our editor’s reviews, as well as a comparison between the new versions entitled Which Slingbox is right for me?

  • And in case you want to check out our reviews… You can find all of them easily from our new Slingbox family overview main page.

  • Doesn’t the old slingbox do pretty much all the things the new pro does? Control DVR, A/V, and basic cable? Granting the old slingbox does not support HD and has a slightly worse quality overall. With the old ones going for around $140 it does not seem like a good deal to get a nerfed slingbox tuner or AV for $180 or buy a pro for $240.
