HP’s Two-Megapixel Webcam
by Richard Ozerman on October 2, 2006

Unfortunately this two-megapixel webcam only does two-megapixels for stills, and not for video, and can’t be designated an HD webcam. Nevertheless, a 1600×1200 image from a webcam isn’t too bad, and it can still capture 800×600 videos at 30FPS, which is way more than you need for Skype or any other kind of web conferencing. Unless of course you’re a sexy female and you’re recording videos of yourself, then by all means invest in an HD webcam.

The HP model attaches to your monitor, be it LCD or CRT, and has a focus ring, a snapshot button, and face tracking. Otherwise, it’s not a bad webcam for laptops or desktops.
