Power Chute [Power Systems]

  • Hate to burst your bubble but this has been around for, at least to my knowledge over a decade, as I used this in HS for track during the late 90s. It’s a resistance workout, helps create more “burst”. I alternated from this and using an old bike tube.

  • Yea we used them in high school too (mid to late 90’s). They are nice tho, it really helps you work on your form because you can run full speed while being slowed by the chute. It lets you concentrate on technique and muscle memory. It also makes you keep driving harder as you run or the chute will fall. The harder/faster you run the easier it is.

  • As a martial artist I use weights around my wrists, upper arms/legs, ankles belt and chest, I know it isn’t the same, but it works wonders as well and has the pro that you can change the weight.

However I might try this as well, seeing how I love a good run every now and then…

  • Wow. I played football in highschool, too, and wish I had one of these. That’s what I get for going to a backwards hick school.

The plus side is I was kicked off the team, and a former cheerleader is my girlfriend. Yay for being 30!

Excuse my whilst I drink scotch.

  • I used to use a big rubber band …. worked great for a while.
