Back then the phone was still really expensive (it is still now, but back then even more). Which reminds me, if anyone is interested to know, the other day I went to a T-Mobile store to check out the Nokia 8800 which they had on display, and after waiting an annoying 12 minutes to talk to someone I had to learn that T-Mobile stopped selling the 8800. They couldn't give me a reason or even tell me why the hell it is still on display then ("We don't have a key to those boxes"), but it's being discontinued.
