This is in no way correct. E-Bay’s rule is that you cannot list a pre-ordered item for sale if it is not going to be released within 30 days of the END of the auction (October 18th). Any auction listed today abides by this rule.
E-Bay is only ending buy-it-now auctions, as they may end before this date. They are not ending auctions that began today with no buy-it-now feature.
Furthermore, they are suspending NO accounts, and they are refunding the money that people spent listing the cancelled items.
So I take it you are one of the ebay sellers for ps3 listed with outstanding prices?

The fact is, NOBODY has a guaranteed system, therefore, NOBODY can guarantee they will be able to ship the item within 30 days of auction close.
It doesn’t matter if you were #1 on the pre-order list at your Gamestop/EB Games – their policy clearly stated that pre-orders were NOT a guarantee of getting a system on launch day.
Every one of those eBay auctions should be canceled since not one person can actually guarantee 100% they will have a PS3 in their hands on Nov 17th.

I heard a rumor that the PS3 was set back, or canceled.
I just talked to a buddy at Sony and they told me that sony will be announcing another delay in the release of the PS3 in the coming days. It seems there is a problem with the diodes and overheating…Ouch..another delay!
Well I can say this is ABSOLUTELY TRUE take a look at my ebay account It has been suspended Over 80 feed back 100 % positive and never had a single problem with ebay and with out a warning they suspended my account and closed all my auctions. The worse part is that I had some that had ended and they sent them emails saying that I was no longer a registered user and that they should file a complaint with paypal so now PAYPAL has frozen the funds what a mess I with I would of listened to aesa2006 he was the ebay member that warned me and I shined him on Sorry man my BAD so were can I get that 6 page letter from I need to try to get my account back I have 2 PS3’s I need to sell

I had the same exact thing happen to me, and I am to the point of exhaustion. My buyers received the same e-mail indicating that I was no longer registered so the majority have disputed items even those that received their items last week. The only thing that saved me was a I purchased shipping confirmation for all items. I had 100% POSITIVE FEEDBACK with over 80 just like you. When reading your response my husband thought I had wrote it. Have you e-mailed them? I did but have yet to hear anything back. If you find out were to get the 6 page item please post it for all.
you guys are idiots you should of just waited to have it in your hands plus you would probably get more for it once its out and nobody can get them. You should never be able to use ebay again because of your stupidity.
After reading the entire Ebay Policy on Pre-Sell, it appears that they are violating their own policy. In fact, numerous ebayers sold their PS3’s with BIN over a few days ago. I would not be surprised if some enterprising attorney will file suit on Monday at the latest.
I tried selling my ps3 my pre-order on ebay also. My account has not been suspended,, but I notice some who did are no longer users. Does anyone have an answer to this? In the email ebay sends, it says nothing about being suspended, as I am not for now…
I had the same problem when the Xbox 360s came out.
Although, Ebay did not do anything to my accounts,
Paypal really screwed me over.
They froze my account and kept my funds from Nov. 28 until May 28th.
Yeah, they keep your money for 6 months.
I had all the systems to sell, and even faxed them my docs but it wasnt any use.
Becuase of that, I now have to use moneys for all of my ebay buying.

I too got suspeneded, after emailing them, I was told it would take 72 hours for a response. Almost excately 72 hours later I received the normal form letter, and if you want reinstatement you must fax a form included in their email, copy of driver license, credit card statement, back account statement, enery statement, as well has receipts or pictures of me and item, for auctions that I had listed before suspension.
After they receive this, wait another 72 hours until they process your request to be reinstated. That’s is where I am in the process now, I sure I will be waiting 3 days to get a response.

Well seriously do not complain , and dont call it over pricing if you feel you dont want to buy one then dont if you want one just wait then camp out in front of stores.. noone can complain about over selling because if someone doesnt want it they will not bid.. if some one wants to save money ..prepare to sleep out side a retail store for 2 days and get 1 of only 10 – 14 sytems that will be in stores. im all for up selling them if you can if somebody payin im sellin oh well!
listen do not be fooled ebay has the authority to make you validate as much as possible before selling a ps3. they will probably hold all ps3 sales on ebay untill they are released and make you validate your purchase and provide proof of actually having the item befor eyou even attempt to make a profit .. and truthfully they have the right to so that this protects the people that are paying double the price of the item so they do not get jipped out of 1,000 – 1,500.00. ebay will most likely enforce this to make sure people arent selling false hope a pre order doesnt mean anything .. they could refund you the money you placed for the pre order and tell you simply that there arent enough.
when the xbox 360 came out, i got some really good xbox email addresses. i listed them exactly as ebay allows, but they cancelled my auctions. i relisted them, again in accordance with ebay rules, and they cancelled them again, and suspended my account. i sent the proper faxes, IDs, etc etc, and they refused to resinstate my account. I had well over 80 feedbacks with only one negative (from some crazy lady in Germany).
the moral of the story is that ebay does whatever the hell they want, and unless you are a power seller, they could care less about you.
