The title made me think this was another comparison of the original Wii remote design to the final product.
I’d like to see the Wii remote next to a sky remote as that’d give me a better idea of how it compares (not every1 has a Sony PSX or Xbox 360 limited-edition remote).

Hey Sam, are you stupid? Haven’t you heard? Nintendo’s new system, the Wii, is going to have a one handed controller. That’s not a TV remote after all. It’s the new controller. I read about this weeks ago in a non gaming magizine for us non gamers. Where have you been, Sam?
Yah, that isn’t the actual wiimote. It was a special gift for certain people in Japan (and maybe elsewhere). Basically its a televsion remote that can do, chanel up and down, volume up and down, on/off, and input. However, it’s still the same size and probably near the same weight as the real wiimotes, so its a good comparison. Also, i’m not sure that’s what the box for the real wiimotes will look like as this was a special case.
LOL that is the real Wiimote. That is the real box the the Wiimote comes in. It also comes with a Nuknuck attachment so it is kind of a 2 handed controler
That is *not* an actual Wii controller. Read the article that goes with the pictures. As a gift for members of an official Nintendo fan club in Japan, Nintendo made and sent out a bunch of simple TV remote controls that look identical to the Wii-mote controller.

It is NOT the real Wii remote – it is a 1:1 scale copy of it that works as a TV remote, released only in Japan.

Omg people. This is a wii Remote. It’s not hard to understand. Pictures have been released from nintendo and this is how it looks.
Also What kind of tv remote has
1) A / B and a D-pad
and
2) Everything Nintendo said on it such as the home button power button and all of that
let alone the whole Why would they release this if it was a huge lie.

that is not the actual wiimote…i read a similar article with the same pictures saying it was a mod to look like a wiimote, but actually controls the tv…
can you guys read up before spouting ignorance everywhere? the nintendo company of japan gave a gift to all of their nintendo power gold subscribers. the gift was a television remote control that can do basic features like volume, channel switching, power, and others that looks just like the wii remote that is packaged with the wii. the remote shown here is obviously the tv remote because under all of the buttons, it has japanese words. they dont/wouldnt have that on the wii controller.
