 high-def movies on the 17-inch Color-Enhanced Crystal View display. The resolution is only 1,440 x 900, but will support an external display at 1,600 x 1,200. You also get a choice of a couple Core 2 Duo processors including the 2GHz T7200 as well as respectable mid-range graphics from an ATI Mobility Radeon X1600 with 512MB HyperMemory. Keep in mind though that the ATI card steals half of that 512MB from system memory. Also, the notebook’s optional internal TV Tuner will add $270 onto the cost, even on the highest-end $2,499 configuration.

The LifeBook A3110 and A6010 notebooks feature 15.4-inch widescreen displays, AMD Turion 64 X2 and Core 2 Duo CPUs respectively and are equipped with an accelerometer-based hard drive protection system and a spill-resistant keyboard. With pricing starting at $1,149, they’re directed for home and student users who need a little mobility.
