<p>It’s not myspace.com, but rather a cyrillic IDN domain name that looks like the genuine McCoy, but isn’t. The character encoding is different, but the characters displayed look almost the same. It’s tricky, and effective.</p>
<p>While IE6 won’t resolve the domain name, Firefox and IE7 will. Whoever wins this eBay auction will find themselves in the position to launch (illegally) a phisher’s goldmine.</p>

Opera has since version 9 a IDN whitelist feature where countries/domains that have anti-phishing policies in the DNS can have their URL display properly otherwise IDN domains are shown using their character equivalents. i.e. myspace.com using cyrllic wouldn’t (shouldn’t - I can’t test it) work at all.
It would depend on all registrars for .com obeying the rules I guess - most tools are not allowing my to insert муspace.com instead of myspace.com so it is hard to see what is what. м is actually M in cyrllic and у is ooh. You have to look hard to see the difference …
BTW ebay has pulled it already.
