I am very dissapointed. After 5 years I was expecting more than adding the TABS that Firefox offered 2 years ago... it has other subtle improvements... but still noth worth of a 5 years wait.

And performance is just plain BAD. it works very slow for me, at least on a Windows XP SP2 machine, connected thru a 15Mbps cable connection and 2 Gb RAM and 3GHz processor... I removed it and went back to IE6.0... it is faster and less vulnerable... and when I want TAB I just use Firefox

There are some good new features to Internet Explorer, but Firefox and Opera have had most of these features for quite awhile already. IE7 has made some big improvements in CSS rendering but still is far off from W3C standards. I'm not a big fan of the interface change as components are not very ergonomic and seem out of place but the addition of tabs and search are nice touches. IE7 is a big improvement, but as Microsoft said today..."they still have a long way to go." And I'm glad to hear that they are already working on the next version of IE to fix the next batch of issues and feature innovations.

As a web developer, I have to use and test with IE. But I'll still keep Flock and Firefox as my primary browsers.

It looks like this is just a previously known Internet Explorer 6 vulnerability they decided to publish again for Internet Explorer 7. It seems kind of odd that Secunia would do it this way.

I run the Vista version of IE7 on a Vista box and an XP2 version on an XP2 box. I also run FireFox on both boxes. Of the four installs, I like the Vista version best. In fact, I do not believe that I have ever experienced an IE crash or other IE related problem on that Vista box and it has been running for about six or seven months now. I don't use FireFox on that box often enough to express an opinion

I don't keep records on the XP box but IE7 and FireFox each seems to hang, crash, or whatever at about the same rate. If I didn't know better, I'd say they seemed to know their stats and try to keep up (down?) with each other.

Each also seems to have its advantages and disadvantages and I sort of use one or the other based upon previous experiences when using sites that I visit repeatedly. For example, if I open a site (my TV guide) in FireFox, I notice it right away and switch to IE7 where it seems to look and operate much better. On the other hand when I want to use some of the FireFox extensions or view QuickTime, I use FireFox.
