Well Mr. Harvey?

I have the advantage of time here, I know if you read my comment that you wrote yours a while ago, as it's Dec 5th now, but on the latest episode of Diggnation Kevin Rose said the first non-smartphone iPhone will have 2 batteries; 1 for music, and 1 for phone! How's that for making your comment look stupid. Just joking, but you'd take it back if you could, right?

[...] Or they could be there to start something totally new, as with the iPod back in 2001. What’s really interesting is that we know that Apple is intent on owning your living room, there were rumors not long ago about forthcoming HDTVs with built-in wireless to work with the iTunes movie store.
[...] That being said, it’s good of Apple to use futureproof hardware, as it shows foresight in that when the next hot industry standard is ratified, your new MacBook Pro will already have it onboard. This also means we’ll probably see this new not-so-standard shipping in other forthcoming WiFi enabled Apple products, like the iTV, or even the Apple HDTV monitors. [...]

Maybe we're off on the fringe (very possible!), but most people in our forums don't care about integrating cell phones with digital players.

A lot of us are iPod owners, and the most common concern is battery life. If playing songs or videos on your iPod/iPhone is depleting your cell phone battery, it's just not worth it. Digital players are amusing, but cell phones are life and death.

I suppose iPhone is envisioned as an additional product, separate and apart from the iPod line. I don't see cell phone and digital player convergence taking off in the near-term.
