Our favorite American retailer Wal-Mart has rolled back the price of the PlayStation 3 to $299, allowing all gamers to experience the “play beyond” gaming of the PlayStation 3.

Just kidding, but hey, we can’t blame Wal-Mart for this mishap, someone must’ve taken a look at the price tag of the PS3 and said, “Well that just can’t be right!” and corrected it. To whomever that was, thank you for assuming that $600 for a console is absurd. Too bad when it goes up again, it will remind us that we won’t be able to eat for a few months if we buy the console.

  • Too bad we can’t pre-order at that price… or can we? ;)

  • No, I don’t think the listing is even up any more. Looks like Wal-Mart caught on quick.

  • aww you suck. you got my hopes up to camp out of walmart for three to four days to get a cheaper ps3…….:)

  • Well this is bad news for Sony and PS3. First Assassin’s Creed and Grand Theft Auto IV are going to Xbox 360. And so is Virtua Fighter 5. And a rumor saying that kingdom hearts 3 will go to the Wii. Can you say ouch. Sony is with there Blu-Ray anyways. And there where a crop load of PS3’s at my local Walmart and none of them got sold don’t even clear the shelves. But today I saw the manager of that Walmart have all the PS3 off the shelves and so where all the X3 Blu-Ray disk. A do to this Walmart being small I asked the manager what was going on and she said that Sony wanted them all back and that’s all she knows. And that’s all I know. Sorry.
