Record Online FM With Instant FM Music

Instant FM Music is a USB drive that can record music from FM and Web stations, so that you can identify the song and play it back later on your MP3 player or PC. It uses Snaptune One software to identify the songs, and can display the radio text. I have no clue how well this works, but at least it looks like fun. Seriously, look how much fun that girl is having in the picture. She knows that recording FM is hip and now.

I bought the Instant FM Music tuner from AdsTech about a year ago. Last April, the Snaptune software that comes with the tuner shut down their servers and I can no longer record from the web with it. Which is a big minus for me since I was using it to record a talk radio show from the web. It still works with FM, if that’s what you want to record. That’s not what I bought it for. They have now repackaged this product under the name of FM RADIO RECORDER. They are still including the Snaptune software with this product and have added another software called Instant Radio. I’m a little more than peeved that I can no longer use this product to record my radio program. I paid good money for this product and used it for less than a year when they shut down their Snaptune servers. As a matter of fact, the Snaptune website doesn’t even exist anymore. When I was using the Snaptune software, they had a forum to post comments and ask questions. They didn’t even bother to post on that forum that they were shutting down their servers, and that Snaptune would no longer work for recording from the web. Everywhere I have looked, I still see this product advertised as being able to record from the web, which is untrue. So, buyer beware! This product is still good to record FM radio, but not web stations or web radio.

When I try to post a comment here I get a notice that I have already posted these comments. If that’s the case, why is it not showing up here?

I’ll try this again. Buyer beware! Instant FM Music is now being sold as FM Radio Recorder. The software that comes with it is called Snaptune One. This software worked extremely well, while the Snaptune servers were working. However, in April 2008, they shut their servers off. Because of this, recording from the Web is no longer possible. So anyone such as I, who bought this product to record off the web is left with a useless product. So be aware, that if you buy this product, you will only be able to record FM radio and not from the web.

For your information, the Snaptune software people have taken down their website. Therefore, there is absolutely no support for the software.

No support whatsoever for Snaptune software. Their website has been taken down. AdsTech the company that makes Instant FM Music and FM radio recorder (same product) is still selling their product with the Snaptune software and still advertising that you can record off the web. They take no responsibility for the Snaptune software. They state that they can not do anything about the software since it is third-party software. Yet they are still including it with their tuner.
