THe one he’s writing about does have an XLR tip. The one that is pictured is for guitars and instruments.

A cardoid is not a type of microphone, it’s a pick-up pattern.

Seems they have two similar products – the one you’re talking about with an XLR connector, and the one you’ve pictured, with a quarter-inch jack.

I believe you might have an error. You say that it is an “XLR connector” above but actually it is a “Tip shield 1/4″ phone plug” if I’m not mistaken.
