Zune File Transfer in Action

Gizmodo has some hot video video of one Zune sending another Zune a song. It takes about 30 seconds for a 2 minute song, which isn’t bad at all. Too bad it’s three play/three day DRM nonsense, folks, or else this would be Zune’s iPod-killing feature. MS says they’ll be improving on this in time, so we’ll see.

  • Sure your method of prescribed file sharing sounds nice on paper, but wouldn’t DRM’d files shared DRMlessly be illegal though? And then how does the artist get paid?

Unless I’m mistaken, unDRM’d files such as MP3 are not restricted or wrapped by DRM when transferred.

That all said, I’m still skeptical, but watching closely.

  • Two minute song? What is this, the 1950’s where every track was around 2 minutes, 3 tops? Talk about shifting the numbers to make it sound better.

Oh yeah, the Zune does a 30 second song in about 12 minutes. Not bad at all. :)
