As long as you have USB keyboard support in your BOIS, it works within, not just in windows.

Sorry if this is a silly question - will this keyboard only work if you have a computer with bluetooth? Or does it come with a bluetooth transmitter that you can plug into your computer? Basically- will this keyboard work with a fairly old desktop?

I put it on my Debian and it worked instantly the first time. But now, the second time, no connection. I haven't got a clue yet...

One thing of importance to note is that *IT SEEMS* the Edge cannot work as a BlueTooth hub. It would mean, unlike the previous DiNovo, that one cannot use an other BlueTooth peripheral like a standard BlueTooth mouse for example connected to the keyboard. Possibly a Logitech BlueTooth mouse would work...
Can you confirm any of that ?

I'll probably post a full review of my own once I have some time, but I figured I'd share the little tidbit I have for other Linux users hitting this page.

The keyboard works out of the box - and instantly - on linux (specifically, ubuntu dapper). No such luck with the trackpad, which is a shame. However, there is hope: the trackpad works without drivers in Windows, and although the "touchdisc" doesn't seem to be recognized as a mouse (and it crashes the Synaptics driver in the few cursory investigations I've done so far), it IS recognized as a HID device and both /dev/ts0 and /dev/event4 emit data for me.

Despite not being able to use this feature in linux, I think I'm still pretty happy with the keyboard. It's absolutely gorgeous and the range is completely ridiculous. It's more like wifi than bluetooth.

I'll post my own review once I've dug deeper.

So given that this is a bluetooth keyboard, am I correct in assuming that its useless outside of the OS? i.e. can I use it to bump into my BIOS, choose an option in the bootmenu etc???

Re: Ian

I use my 1st Gen DiNovo with my PocketPC. The media keys obviously don't work, but for basic typing it works great.

Please update the review once the keyboard has been tested with Linux. This past year I purchased a luxury Logitech wireless keyboard with no Linux driver support and ran into a total dead-end. Solved (quickly) by purchasing an 8 euro corded keyboard. So Logitech was not a good choice.

Pretty nice keyboard. I was always looking for such a thing, but still a big price.
Can some tell Santa, please! :-)

I wonder if it can be used with a Pocket PC at all?
Does anybody know of any full sized bluetooth keyboards for WinMobile devices?
I have a foldaway one, but it is not very reliable
