Indeed, Bill Gates was quoted last year saying something to the effect that launching Halo 3 close to the PS3 launch would be perfect because it would divert consumers from the new Sony system. Microsoft later became sketchy on confirming that fact though. Could it be that it was simply trying to mask its plan? Could Halo 3 really be good to go?
The rumor comes from a person who states that Halo 3 will be available at some retailers this weekend and everywhere by next Tuesday. Who knows if it’s true, but I guess we’ll see in a week.
This is completely not true. Halo will come out at at the earliest nest year according to Bungie Studios the developer of Halo 3.

Well, if you would have read the article it did say that Bungie and Microsodt have been basicly lying and that were all along going to release H3 around the time of PS3. This would be very possible they could have been further along in developement than led us to be. I don’t see the sense in this marketing strategy though. Granted you don’t need to advertise and market this game at all for it to be successful and if this turns out to true then they would have saved millions in ads and marketing and would bank even more profit than they did with H2.
