No sooner are we welcomed to the social that a little bird tells us that orange and pink first gen Zunes might be ready for us all around the holidays AND that one-point-five gen Zune specs are finalized and that there are prototypes circulating at Zune-quarters in Seattle. The new colors are already in the grimey hands of those who worked on the Zune project. The new models will be the same as the old except they’ll have 60 and 80 GB drives along with better screens and a better battery. Those will drop after the holidays sometime.
In other related news I still haven’t been able to drag any music onto the black Zune. Super.

Trying to win the battle with colours… not always the best option, as demonstrated by the latest PSP incarnations…
Looks like Apple got all the good colors already. I wonder what thost crazy folks at Microsoft have cooking – maybe a signed U2 edition.
One thing Microsoft got right, is the UI on the player itself.
I gave it an ease-of-use test this morning – handed it to my 9-year-old and let her loose. She was able to effortlessly navigate through video viewing, photo slideshows, and music, without any direction from me.
Simplicity is good, and on the player at least, it’s a richer experience than iPod.

If this is true, and a new model is out for the Holidays I’m not going to be very happy. Hopefully they can release it before my 30 day exchange window is up so I can just trade my 30g for a larger one, though I doubt we’ll be that lucky.
Good news from Cesar! http://zuneinsider.com/archive/2006/11/21/zune-reviews-too-harsh-and-a-rumor-squashed.aspx
THIS IS A LIE! DO NOT FALL FOR IT!
If you can hand me a piece of proof, I’ll jump of a bridge.
