OK, it goes without saying that the online listings service known as Craigslist is already shady enough. You should know better not to put an over-inflated console up for sale and not to meet the guy who wants to buy it at 1AM.
Some jackass in La Palma, CA did just that and ended up getting pepper sprayed and then having his PS3s stolen. Next time you want to sell a console for $5000 dude, do it in a more public place than the local McDonalds, during the daytime, and don’t use Craigslist&mdashleave that for the hookers and coke dealers.

Can you please back up your assertion?
Thanks!
Craig
Yeah where are you getting this info from?
Has the incident been reported to the authorities?
OK Craig this might substantiate it http://abclocal.go.com/kgo/story?section=nation_world&id=4779451
OK so it did happen – ouch
Craigslist is a great place to advertise, and all sorts of decent people use it. Yes, because it’s free, there’s some crap on it, but don’t blame the platform when you should blame the user. That man should have known better than to meet someone in the middle of the night.
My reaction is “Ha ha ha!”
So some parasite attempted to make a fast buck by buying PS3s, preventing people who actually wanted to get one, from getting one. When he tried to screw one of those people out of $4300 per console, he gots pepper sprayed. Well, karma’s a bitch, eh?
It was two consoles and 17 games for $5k so not as ludicrous price as it sounds.
Re Craigslist as a platform could easily help the authorities if they made their users sign in for an account which was id verified and the logged the ip adress of every person who responds to a posted ad
Craigslist is garbage. PS3’s are now being autoflagged and yours listing gets banned within an hour.
It’s impossible to find a buyer now.
Cl is just a bunch of thieves – they flag and delete posts as soon as you put them up. I tried posting my stolen guitar info – and it was deleted over 300 fvcking times.
Keep spreading the word.

We’re going to stop this BS. Rock on.

I’ve started using http://www.everythingtolive.com since Craigslist has gotten so commercial. Real estate agents just go on there and post every house they are selling. Takes forever to get to good stuff.
