I totally had this problem yesterday. AskDaveTaylor.com recommended this Australian company www.nch.com.au/switch. Visit the Dave Taylor website because he gives a little demo for PC and Mac -- made my life so much easier.

p.s. I love SimulScribe

> does anyone know of a program that can accurately transcribe .wav or .mp3?

With Simulscribe, looks like all you need to do is call yourself, let it go to voicemail and then play the lecture back :-)

I have been trying out SimulScribe for two months and I have to say it is one of the most useful mobile phone applications I have seen in a long time. I never have to spend time accessing my voicemail and hitting 7 over and over again just to keep my mailbox from overflowing. All my voicemails are well transcribed and ther is always the attached .wav file if I need clarification. Also the simulscribe website has a user login section where I can view and listen to all your voicemail from the day I started the service. A+ to whoever designed this AP.

DragonSpeaking 9 is supposed to be great- Almost no training required. If the mp3's or wavs are just speech, try that. I have DragonSpeaking 8, and it will do mp3's, but not too well without significant training.
