Customers Vote promotion ended yesterday, or at least the voting closed. The winner will be announced today at 2pm ET/11am PT and then you have a whole freaking day to sit in front of your computers until the
Xbox 360 winner goes on sale. Amazon has a page of tips set up to tell you how best to attempt to lockdown a unit.
PS~ To all those people that hated on us and said we made up the rumor to drive traffic, I hope the Barbie wins.

The Core system just isn’t that good of a deal really for anyone if you haven’t already got one xBox. Even at $100. A Premium system at $200 would have been a much better promo.

Well, I don’t have one, so $200 off is a good deal for me. And Amazon won’t have any problems selling off 1,000 of them inside of a minute. Besides, I’m guessing Amazon was able to do it, because it knows it’ll make up the loss on accessories. It all balances out in the end and it’s a fun contest that draws shoppers to the site.

Are you actually complaining akatsuki? This is a fantastic deal! No matter whether you are going to use it or not, the turn around cannot be ignored. On the other hand I am glad that you will not be buying, gives me a better chance ;) I am pretty amused that there have not been more comments on this post considering so many people told us that this was not true just 2 weeks ago! Good work guys on digging up the story waaaay before anyone else knew about it! Keep it up!

Their serves are getting killed. i can’t even get a page on Amazon’s home page. what are other people seeing. This bodes nicely for Amazon’s foray into web services. thanks Mr. Bezos. hurry up and build out that server farm you’ll desperately need.

This whole promotion was crap. I refreshed the page every 10 seconds from 10:57 to 11:00am PST and then the entire amazon.com site went down. When I finally got the page to come up everything was already soldout.
I have already bought Christmas gifts from Amazon.com and I’m returning them to buy at another retailer. This whole promotion sucked.

This feels so gimmick-y. 99% of the people never had a chance starting over five minutes before the promotion went live. I don’t mind losing, but I want at least a chance at it beforehand. I was totally shut out in the cold wayyy before I could even look at the site.
Plus I hear now it went live before exactly 2pm (Eastern government time). So to hell with that.
This gimmick sucked and if anything, Amazon is going to drive people AWAY from their site, in anger or frustration.
As for the X-Box, right back out of my price range now. Glad I’ve got my Wii to keep me warm this winter I suppose.
