Sony PlayStation 3 users are reporting their SIXAXIS controllers are no longer detected by their PS3s. To get the controller to be recognized again by the console, users have to repeatedly plug in the controller via USB to sync it to the console. I haven’t had problems with this yet, but it could be a bug that came in when users downloaded the new 1.11 firmware update that was released yesterday. Sony’s obviously still trying to get things ironed out with its new console, but the controller problem is something users really shouldn’t have to deal with.
Another thing I’ve been wondering about is what exactly Sony fixed with the 1.11 firmware update. The high definition scaling problem isn’t fixed, the browser is still slow, consoles are still crashing when visiting the online store and now controllers are freezing up. From the looks of it, the only thing I see different is the user account feature that lets you add more money into your “virtual wallet.”
Not to bad mouth Sony again, but I hope there’s another update that comes out soon. One that actually fixes some of the problems users (including me) are having with the console. Seriously. Oh yeah, has anyone beat Resistance yet?

Dude I know what you mean, there’s nothing out there that really interests me that much right now for PS3, Im gettin fed up with my 2 games, Resistance and NFS Carbon. I want some fresh new shit!!!!! Nothing else that’s out looks all that good, maybe except COD3 but not even.
There are plenty good games for PS3. Assassins Creed, Bioshock, Killzone 2, Soul Calibur 4, Resident Evil 5, Metal Gear Solid 4, Little Big Planet, Street Fighter 4, Prince of Persia, Devil May Cry 4, Dead Space, COD 4, Naruto: Ninja ultimate Storm, Far Cry 2, Uncharted: Drakes Fortune. The list goes on. Even if u dont trust me, rent the games that look good. If you like it buy it, if you dont then leave it. Dont complain u whiny little boy, there are plenty good games out there you just need to try them.

^ idk about FFXIII…I have a feeling it’s really gonna suck since Sakaguchi, the one who created the FF series, left square quite a while ago. Im not a fanboy or anything, but it doesn’t look like there’s too much hope for the FF series right now, except for remakes and more ports of past FF games.
Hey Joey… Gears isn’t a first person shooter. Regardless, Final Fantasy has sucked since number seven. Go play a real role-playing game like Fallout, or Balder’s Gate.
I have to say that the two people that I know are having all the problems mentioned above. One of them really wants to sell it on Ebay. Why have gear that gives you a headache on a daily basis?

*Dipset*… you’re wrong about darn near everything, you knew that right? First off, the RSX GPU is considered by *every* reliable source to be weaker than the 360’s Xenos.
Second, the Cell absolutely does NOT have eight cores. The Cell has a single core and eight SPEs, which are incredibly limited in their functionality. Of course, it doesn’t even really have eight SPEs either because one SPE is unused for redundancy issues, and another is dedicated solely to running the PS3’s OS, meaning that developers only have access to six.
Third, the 360 does 1080p as well (it didn’t upon launch, but it has for several months now)… so that’s hardly a boon for Sony, since they only equal the competition in that area. Also, as a previous poster stated, it really isn’t being used much for gaming at this point, and isn’t likely to be in the near future. It’s too resource intensive to display games in 1080p… you end up sacrificing too much to make it work, and as a result you end up with a game that is high def, but looks like crap due to low polygon counts, low res textures, and other such corners that need to be cut to allow for the game to run smoothly in 1080p.
Lastly, by no means are any games that are coming out in the next couple of years going to be using anywhere near the full potential of either the PS3 or the Xbox 360. To “get the most” out of both consoles developers are having to do multithreaded game engines, something which is new to every single developer out there. Multithreaded programming is a new avenue, and if you think any developer is going to fully get the hang of it in the next year, well, you’re kidding yourself.
Not to add insult to injury but Happy is absolutely right. The PS3 is more of a media machine than a gaming machine, Sony botched things up pretty good.
I think it is hilarious how the Sony fanboys last generation were screaming that hardware doesn’t matter, it was the PS2 library of games that mattered. That is until the PSP and PS3 came out, then it was all about hardware.
RIGHT NOW the 360 has better graphics (which probably will always be the case), more games, customizable faceplates, a better dashboard, gamerscores, an insanely better online service, a better controller, and all for a much cheaper price. Additionally, Sony is losing all its exclusives to MS, so I’ll be playing Metal Gear pretty soon! The only real arguments I can see some people making is that the 360 HDD is too small (especially if you want to download HD movies and store them forever), the system is loud (which I never really notice because I have the TV speakers/surround system on), and 360 doesn’t play movies or games on HD-DVD/Blu Ray discs (this might become an issue if and when games will need a larger media to be stored on. Currently there are no plans for the Xbox 360 HD-DVD add-on to be used to play games.
By the way, I have a couple friends with PS3’s. One friend’s PS3 freezes a few times a day while the controller’s blue tooth gets scrambled for a few seconds here and there resulting in loss of control. The other has had no problems but spends a lot of his time playing Gears of War. Right now it just doesn’t make sense to own a PS3.
