PlayStation 3 may have Cell processing and high definition graphics, but what it doesn’t have is more sales than Nintendo. The Nintendo Wii has sold over 1 million units in 2 weeks, selling more than double the amount of PS3s sold. Of course there aren’t nearly as many PlayStation 3s as there are Nintendo Wiis, but hey, that ain’t our problem.

Has anyone seen the extended 2 minute commercials on your Tivo Unit? Pretty damn cool… Having tivo, I never watch commercials, but in the now playing list they had a Wii Commercial. Two asian guys show up at random peoples doors bow and present the Wii.
I think the reason the Wii will be more successful than the PS3 and Xbox in terms of unit is it has more mass appeal. Not as complicated games, and really something more people will be able to play without all the complications. Tennis, Bowling, even the boxing games look like fun as you actually swing and move with the joystick.
I might ask for one for xmas now..

Are we supposed to be surprised that it’s outselling the PS3? I assumed that was a given, although a million in just two weeks really is quite impressive.

Yes, at close to 1/3 of the price, it’s not AS surprising how well they are selling. I have to admit though, they do look pretty neat.

1 million units sure, but I can’t seem to find one to buy without the insane $600 “bundle” deals.
I’m not at all surprised that the Wii is selling at the rate that it is - when I talk to people everyone’s buzzing about the Wii, not the xBox or the PS3. I’m sure the rate will drop after the new year, but I expect them to continue selling out as soon as they hit the shelves during the holiday season.
Amazon? Can you help a brother out?
