Either way you have to carry something extra with you. This "buddy" is a bit more compact and does away with the longish cord, I suppose. And hopefully it will work for those who have managed to tragically bend the clip. I do like the little lanyard feature. For $6.00 I guess I don't have to get overly philosophical about it. If I see one, I know I'll be buying one--if only for insurance against the inevitable day when I lose the official Apple dock. I haven’t really been catching on to this concept. Having one these as a hybrid mp3/USB Storage Key would have been great. Unfortunately you have to cartry around yet another adaptor to plug it into the PC with.
