It looks like Apple may be delaying production of its 15-inch and/or 17-inch non-glossy MacBook Pro models due to users complaining about the quality of the display. A user over at HardMac stated he received the following email from Apple when trying to order a 15-inch MacBook Pro:
Bad news: MacBook Pro 15″ production is temporary stopped due to a quality issue identified on non-glossy LCD panel.
Sounds fishy to me, I’ve experienced bad customer service with Apple before, but that’s only after I’ve already bought a product. If you’re in the market for a new MacBook Pro, you might want to wait a few days to see how Apple works things out. The last thing you want to do is send your new MacBook Pro back to Apple right after you buy it.

That really sux. You shell out all that scratch for a pro and you get an amateur.
Well, this is one of the reasons I’ll stick with Thinkpads. Half of our office is Mac and I know plenty of people with quality issues. I think Mac fanatics will defend these quality issues as they are as you know pretty fanatical. Great designs, I hope they shore up quality control on notebooks…
I’m not defending defects, but I’d prefer a defective Mac over a Thinkpad… ;)
