This seems to be a very similar computer available in-store for $50 cheaper. I assume that mitigates some of the rebate issues.

Isn't it time for companies to abandon the mail in rebate? Best Buy has finally come around and is phasing them out, I hope other retailers follow their lead.

I think every geek should own a $200 computer if for no other reason then to prove to family/friends how capable cheaps computers can be and that they are not impossible to maintain.

Yeah, for the price, this config, and alot of stuff they sell, is...

DISCLOSURE: I use TigerDirect/GlobalComputer...from the days of Me...no that's to far back to admit, lol) exclusively for my company business needs and home use as well; plus my rep is just that awesome, for reals!

That said I have had no issues whatsoever with rebates. The quality of all the brand name products (especially the systemax brand which i use exclusivey at work, fyi) are unsurpassed for the price. But since the issue seems to be rebates, I'll throw this out there again: I've had no problems, period.

Not sure of what the problems some have had on fatwallet, but I'll talk to my rep in the morning and see if I can get some official info on it/this item for ya'll. I'll post either way, so check back in the morning...

According to Fatwallet, TigerDirect is where rebate forms go to die.

Try this at your own risk...
