Use SIXAXIS With Your Windows PC

If you’ve been wanting to use your new Sony PS3’s SIXAXIS on your PC, here’s your chance to give it a try. The DCEmu forums have a driver up and a set of easy instructions on how to get yourself going. Sadly, I followed all the directions and tested the driver out, but I couldn’t get it to work. I got as far as getting my PC to recognize SIXAXIS as a gaming controller, but honestly, I never plugged in the SIXAXIS without the driver, so your PC might recognize your SIXAXIS anyway when you first plug it in. Can anyone else out there test it out and give us their feedback?

sorry, don’t have one, but i’ve been registered with dcemu for a while, good people who know their stuff so it should work if they say so, with i could help.
Along the same lines if you haven’t already, take a look at Retrozone. Authentic controllers converted to usb. I really, really dig what they’re doing and buy way more than I should. Can’t help it, retro games are cool - retro controllers are the shizzle for reals. Another reason I wanted the wireless usb hub, but I knew it was too good to be true.

adi, good for you [me too]. w00t!
there’s something about retro gaming that gets me going. a next/current gen console downloading a game i bought five times already to a system that can’t even hiccup where it’s supposed to with a controller that feels abusrd to begin with is not my idea of fun…
where oh where, i mean: wii oh wii is my has my fun gone…

Without the driver it lists the SIXAXIS under your controllers, but none of the buttons respond. The lights just keep flashing as to say that you need to sync it, but the PS button does nothing.

How get Sixaxis work on Windows XP:
1. Install the driver(LibUSB)
2.Start(open the file) ps3sixaxis_en
3.Pug your Sixaxis on your PC with the Miniusb and usb cable
4.Start ps3sixaxis_en again.
5.Push the PS (central) button.
6.Restart your pc with the Sixaxis plugged in.
7.When restart finishes open the ps3_sixaxis_en and push the PS button
8.It works(if it is lighting in red, it is recharging).
My Sixaxis funcioned this way. Bye

i got it to work very easily just follow the steps. the ps3sixaxis_en is suppose to basically flash on the screen. to test the controller go to the game controller option in the control panel it should be there click properties and the test screen should be there/ just press any of the buttons and number should light up. also the light on the back of the controller are suppose to flash.

Well, here is a simple fix.
1. Place the “ps3sixaxis_en” file into the Windows/System32 folder
2. Go to start and then click Run
3. Type in CMD and a prompt should pop up
4. in the Prompt, type “ps3sixaxis_en” and hit enter
5. (keep the Game Controllers menu open under properties) and push the PS button
***Might want to shut ps3 off to prevent it from starting up***
6. By now u should be able to see that you can move the + in any direction!

I did what you said Tomislav and in the prompt it says found 4 busses.
And the ps3 controller comes up in “game controllers” but I am still unable to make the buttons light up in the game controllers

How did you register the controller via bluetooth. I have a dongle, but it can’t find it. I guess I need bluetooth drivers for the controller, but can’t find any.
