Original Lighted Slippers Inventor helps Children & Families fighting Cancer with expenses.

Hi, my name is Steven Dunlap and I am the original inventor of SeeLippers –Animated Lighted House Slippers for everyone in the house! I invented, created and designed these slippers in memory of my 9 year old niece who passed away fighting bone cancer.

SeeLippers were created as my bright idea to help children and families fight everyday expenses of dealing with Cancer. Both SeeLippers, Inc., & our national distribution company Steven Dunlap & Company, Inc., will donate 100% of profits from the sales of each pair of SeeLippers to those families who need help the most through Maegan’s Eyes Children Cancer Family Support Assistance Fund a private philanthropic organization which was set up by Maegan’s uncle –me, Steven Dunlap.

I invite you to visit us at any one of the links and read Maegan’s Story and then you will understand what why and how I plan to make a difference in as many families battling cancer as I can with your support and purchases of SeeLippers. www.maeganseyes.org – www.seelippers.com – and www.stevendunlap.com

Thank you and God bless you throughout this joyous Holiday Season. Only together can we spread the light of giving. Personal questions welcomed by writing me at sdunlap@stevendunlap.com

We live in litigious times I see a whole new possible area of product liability
My dog likes to carry my slippers around, he also slobbers, are the electrics IP65?
What if one kicks someone in a sensitive spot & the light became lodged?
Could illuminating ones toes be construed as encouraging a 'foot fetish'?
Etc. Etc.

Okayyyyyyyy, I just checked out the link, and woohoo, they're now $89, thus increasing the 'WTF' factor by ten-fold.

And in the accompanying copy, it says:

<i>This is a cool gadget, and the perfect gift for the man who has everything!<i>

Upon checking the "variants" (WTF?), they indeed come in women's sizes.

Make magazine has a post for building your own light up slippers http://www.makezine.com/blog/archive/2006/03/homemade_light_up_slippers.html

I'd add ipod control integration -- what better way to wander around in the dark than to do it while jamming to tunes or watching The Office: right foot tap/left foot tap (next song/prev song); right foot tap and press/left foot tap and press (FF/RW); circular motion with foot (scroll wheel action); motion activated recharging; and so on.

Wow, there's a history of patented technology in light up slippers...

"The lighted slipper further includes a pair of light housings mounted to the exterior surface forward of the foot opening."
http://www.patentmonkey.com/PM/PatentID/6293032.aspx

"A lighted shoe apparatus includes a shoe having a shoe body, several externally visible light emitting elements mounted to the shoe..."
http://www.patentmonkey.com/PM/PatentID/5821858.aspx

and my favorite, "A flexible child's slipper has a night light associated therewith which may be selectively actuated by each step of the child..."

These remind me of those shoes from L.A. Gear... L.A. Lights... http://sneakers.pair.com/lightup.htm

You see kids running around with them all over the place now... not as cool as when they were first introduced.

Hmm.. I wonder if they are going to integrate heelies (those shoes w/ a single wheel integrated in the heel so you can roll around) into some slippers... now that would be cool.... well, until you rolled down the stairs... but c'mon, the coolness factor is totally worth the risk.

Imagine John Travolta in Heelies.

They are putting LEDs in everything these days. Why not cell phones? The flashlight on my old phone saved me a few times. You don't see it that often anymore. As for the slippers, I want ones that change colors as you walk.
